Cleaning your entire apartment can be a daunting task, especially as we approach the upcoming holidays. We have an idea: Break the cleaning down into smaller tasks to help keep you underwhelmed. The Fiduciary Real Estate Development Blog is here to share a few helpful cleaning tips that will make cleaning a faster and more efficient process. Try out these cleaning tips this month at your apartment and let us know how well they worked for you.

Ceiling Fans

Remove accumulated dust from your ceiling fans with a pillowcase. Enclose the blade with a pillowcase and wipe the dust off. The pillowcase will catch all the dust and keep it from raining down onto furniture or the floor below. After you have finished, toss the dirty pillowcase(s) into the washer to be cleaned and used again in the future!

Wipe down your windows with a rag and soapy water and then use a clean rag to dry them. If you have one, a window squeegee works great to remove any streaks. Cleaning your windows every few months will help get rid of any dust or dirt that’s stuck to them; you’ll also see a difference in the amount of sunlight that enters your apartment!

Faucets and Sinks

Lime buildup is a common problem for sinks and faucets. A quick and easy way to get rid of lime buildup is to lay paper towels over the fixture, soak them in vinegar, and let them sit for a few hours. Letting the vinegar-soaked paper towels sit on the affected surface will help soften the lime buildup and make it easier to remove with less vigorous scrubbing required.

Clean Your Appliances

Give your microwave, oven, toaster, and other appliances a good scrubbing so that they shine like new. Vinegar is a miracle solution when cleaning and wiping down appliances. Microwave a bowl of water with a splash of vinegar in your microwave for five minutes. Then, use a rag or sponge to wipe it out with no scrubbing required!
