Living the Difference

At Fiduciary Real Estate Development, Inc. (FRED), we care deeply for people – from our newest FRED employee to our long-time residents. We are passionate about creating communities. Our focus on people is how we Live the Difference.

Since our founding in 1985, we work to ensure that from the moment a resident walks through the front door or an individual joins our team, he/she/they is welcomed by a community that embraces different cultures, backgrounds and viewpoints.

  • We want the environment at FRED to be a place where everyone can bring their whole selves to work. Where our differences are celebrated because it’s what makes us interesting. Everyone has a different experience in life that is unique to them. We want and need everyone to bring those experiences into the workplace because it truly will make us better and stronger.

  • At FRED, we encourage continual learning and open conversations around diversity and inclusion. Our goal is to be intentionally inclusive by having purposeful discussions and education opportunities that build understanding and awareness.

We focus on learning about issues impacting different people within our FRED family and the communities we serve. Our inclusion learning starts at the beginning of an employee’s onboarding experience with unconscious bias training. Employees also participate in annual company-wide training, monthly diversity-focused micro-learnings, and leadership training.

  • Our Employee Resource Group (ERG) is an optional resource for employees, creating a safe and open space to discuss topics that relate to diversity and inclusion with an emphasis on continued learning and sharing. The group discusses a wide range of topics including: race, ethnicity, religion, nationality/culture, gender identity, sexual orientation, physical ability, mental health, and allyship. FRED provides financial support to the ERG to aid in the conversations and education, empowering employees to grow personally and professionally.
